- Walter Koenig,Star Trek#36: Catspaw, TV, 1967. (Stardate 3018.2). Having impressed creator Gene Roddenberry as Ed Apple in #25: The Devil in the Dark. Weston seemed a shoo-in for the new crew member designed to delight teenage girls. The character evolved into the Enterprise’s Russian ensign, Pavel Chekov. And Koenig looked like a clone of The Monkees’ Davy Jones. Catspawwas his actual debut but not sscreened until a month after his on-air debut in the later shot #30: Amok Time- Stardate 3372.7. “Davy” Koenig starred in 36 trreks, seven films (and a short), seven video games, plus guest-shots inStar Trek New Voyages: Phase II and as the 143-year-old as Admiral Chekov in Star Trek: Renegades, 2015.
