- Douglas Fairbanks, Reaching For The Moon, 1930. Before Senior Doug decided he’d fancy wearing civvies and romancing Bebe Daniels, two others had been in the frame for Mr Money Bags, Larry Day. They were: another Larry, Lawrenc Gray, something of a Fairbanks lookalike and Whiting, who happened to be Junior Doug’s step-father on marrying his mother,Anna Beth Sully Fairbanks, in 1929 until his death 32 years.
