Among producer Alexander Korda’s mercurial   Hungarians in London, Pascal producer-directed Major Barbara, 1941, Caesar and Cleopatra, 1945, Ray   also set his sights on Marlon Brando and Ava Gardner as the lovers.... Never got any of them.
