- Dean-Charles Chapman, 1917, 2019. The latest (and greatest) Spider-Man was in talks about playing Lance Corporal Blake in UK director Sam Mendes’ amazing WWI film).. Tom’s overcrowded diary got in the way…. even for a film designed to look like one continuous take. Which of course it wasn’t! Shooting took three months - after six months’ rehearsal! - on seven UK locations and at Shepperton Studios. And the longest actual take was 8 1/2 minutes.
