Jean Rouveral (1916-2017)

  1. Dorothy Wilson, Eight Girls in a Boat, 1933.      The actress-scenarist from St Louis was Christa until refusing a diving stunt. Charlotte Henry took over, then balked for the same reason (which is how she was free to be Alice in Wonderland).  Finally, a stunt double was used for Wilson. Rouveral’s carreer is best summed up by two of her book titles: Refugees from Hollywood: A Journal of the Blacklist Years (she still managed to write Joan Crawford’s Autumn Leaves, 1956) and Writing for the Soaps (As The World Turns, etc).
