- Marc Warren, Doctor Who #175: Love & Monsters, TV, 2006. The Lancashire stand-up superstar was a great Whovian and wrote to producer Russell T Davies praising the rebooted series and… well, need he say any more? A delighted Davies offered him Elton Pope, also obsessed with the Doctor and his strange blue police-box. No, said, Kay, too close to, say, his Eric Gartside in Coronation Street. Could he not stretch a bit and become the alien villain? O-Kay! And he became Victor Kennedy, aka the Abzorbaloff, opposite Doc10 David Tennant. Warren, from Band of Brothers and Hustle, was a perfect Elton.
