1. - James Badge Dale, 24, TV,  2003-2004. All but set as Kiefer Sutherland’s fellow CTU agent, Chase Edmunds - until Dale’s explosive audition. The producers said they’d find Macht another role in  the next season. Never happened!!  

2. - Rob Morrow, Numb3rs, TV, 2005-09.  The first of two pilots  was   set in   MIT rather than CalTech and the mathematician hero’s FBI agent brother (“everything is numbers”) was played by Macht. However, Morrow had a better audience-acceptability due to his Dr Fleischman on  Northern Exposure, TV, 1990-95.
