- Elinor Donahue, Father Knows Best, TV, 1954-1960. Robert Young co-produced and played the titular Jim Anderson. In the pilot, Sally was his daughter, Betty. (Or: "Princess"). Not in the series. And it was Elinor’s pregnancy and her screen brother Billy Gray’s marijuana problems that closed the show.
