- Jerzy Kosinksi, Reds, 1980. Warren Beatty, a Sam Spiegel pal and often guest on his yacht - he started writing Shamoo on it – wanted Sam to play the Bolshevik flunky, Grigory Zinoviev. “I think Sam got a tuxedo made for the occasion,” said Beatty. “But it never happened.”
