1. - Val Kilmer, The Doors,  1991. The singer with Australia's  band, INXS, was one of only two genuine rock stars envisioned for Jim Morrison as the bio-pic passed through film-makers galore  before being made by Oliver Stone - who first heard the US band in a Vietnam bunker.

2. - Elias Koteas, Crash, 1997.  Canadian director David Croneneberg wanted  the Aussie rocker  to play Vaughan.  Hutchence made three films in his short movie career, ended by his suicide
